How accurate is this?

Phone microphones are not calibrated and phones process sound differently, so this is a phone estimate that can be off by 10 dB or more. It is useful for comparing flights with the same phone, not as a measurement. Indoors, a closed window cuts 25 to 30 dB. The aircraft match uses live ADS-B positions: we pick the aircraft with the smallest slant distance to you right now. Aircraft without ADS-B (some helicopters) can't be matched.
